Having formed in January 2025, it has been a busy year for FoBS. We created a committee and set about gathering information, ideas and feedback from across the community. We did a lot of boring stuff; setting up bank accounts, insurance, policies, online payment accounts and more. We had our first activity at the June Sports Day. Over the summer we formally registered the charity with the Charity Commission. Since then, FoBS has continued to grow in terms of activities and profile. Our Colour Run and Astronomy events were the key successes. We have raised nearly £3500 so far. More importantly, we have engaged every child in the school in something FoBS related and more than a few have chalked off some firsts: their first after school club, their first view of Saturn, their first 5k run, their first potato print. There is a huge opportunity and there have been plenty of laughs along the way, with much to look forward to.
